Vintage travel poster printed by Einson-Freeman Co., New York for the Pennsylvania Railroad. The poster shows the iconic United States Capitol in Washington DC with the text "Washington" at the top of the poster in yellow and "Go by Train, Pennsylvania Railroad" in red at the bottom of the poster.

The Pennsylvania Railroad was founded in 1846 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was the largest railroad in the United States throughout the first half of the twentieth century, and was a passenger-oriented railroad. The railroad started a boom in train travel, which was supported by exceptional poster art that highlighted the beauty and historical significance of the destinations.

Condition

7/10 - Folder with scratches and patina but otherwise good condition.
