Train posters are some of the absolute most valuable vintage posters. This historic train poster is from 1938 and promotes the Gornergrat Bahn. The Gornergrat is an iconic ridge in the Swiss Alps. The Gornergrat Bahn was the world's first fully electrified cog railway. Today it is a modern, environmentally friendly railway, and Europe's highest external cog railway. The railway takes passengers directly from Zermatt Station (1620 m) to the top of the Gornergrat (3136 m).
This is an original vintage poster. It is not a reproduction. At the time of writing, you will not find this poster for sale anywhere else on the internet.
Condition
There is a large damage in the upper right corner, as can be seen in the pictures. There are also folds, tears and a general condition that we cannot rate higher than 4 out of 10. However, the wear has its charm and can be repaired if you want to invest in this old, valuable poster.
Framing
The frame is not included in the price, but we recommend that you buy a custom-made frame with museum glass, which protects optimally against UV radiation, thus preserving this unique poster and its value.
