About the frame

The matte white wooden frame brings light, calm and balance to the room. The fine, visible grain of the wood breaks up the purity of the color in an elegant way, so the frame does not feel sterile, but warm and alive. With its 10 mm slim profile and 10 mm depth, it has a light, modern look that suits both minimalist and colorful artwork perfectly. The 4 mm overlap at the front ensures that everything is held securely in place.

The frame is made of solid ayous wood, which combines strength and low weight. It can be hung horizontally or vertically, and in smaller sizes (up to 18×24 cm) it can stand on its own with the support foot. The back is fitted with sturdy metal fittings and flexible metal clips, which make it easy to change the contents.

The wooden frame is simple and honest – a light and natural choice that lets both the artwork and the room breathe.

It is available in 30 standard sizes from 10×10 cm to 50×60 cm and can also be made in custom sizes.

Glass

Acrylic glass – almost weightless, shatterproof and with reflections that give the picture a glow.

Standard glass – traditional and clear, with natural reflections that bring the artwork to life.

Non-reflective glass – reduces glare and creates a subdued, soft light – ideal in rooms with large windows.

Museum glass – almost invisible, completely non-reflective and with at least 70% UV protection, so your picture keeps its original color for many years.

Compare the four types of glass.

Passepartout

If you want a passepartout between the artwork and the frame, choose the frame in a larger format than the artwork. With a border of approx. 5 cm, an artwork measuring 40×40 cm fits in a white wooden frame measuring 50×50 cm.

We have passepartouts in several different colors. In the large formats above 81×110 cm, however, they are only available in white and off-white.

Inner dimension

Start by measuring the artwork precisely. Then choose a cutout size that is 1 cm smaller than the poster – for an artwork measuring 50×70 cm, that corresponds to a cutout size of 49×69 cm. With approx. 5 mm of overlap all the way around, the poster is held neatly and securely in place. If you prefer a reveal edge, it can be chosen in our Frame Designer.

Outer dimension

The outer dimension is adjusted automatically, as it is always the same as the dimensions of the glass. The glass, passepartout and backing board extend around 5 mm in under the front profile of the frame.

Number of cutouts

The passepartout is available with 0-5 cutouts of your choice. If you need more cutouts, please contact us. If you choose no cutouts, the artwork is mounted on top of the board, which highlights the entire edge of the picture, the signature and the print marks.

Position of the cutout

The cutout can be positioned in three ways:

Centered cutout (standard): The same distance to the top and bottom – the classic solution.

Top-positioned cutout: The cutout is moved upward, with equal distance to the top and sides and extra space at the bottom.

Free positioning: Place the cutout exactly where you want it. Enter the distance from the top and the left side, and see the result right away in our preview.

All passepartouts are cut from 1,5 mm acid-free quality board.
