Original advertising poster probably from the 1910s for Hasselbalchs Books with the text "When you go on holiday, remember to take Hasselbalchs Books with you!" . The publisher behind Hasselbalchs Books was Steen Hasselbalchs Forlag, which was established in 1916. The publisher was known for publishing a wide range of literature, including fiction and non-fiction.

Axel Mathiesen (1882-1973) was a very productive Danish cartoonist and illustrator in the first half of the 20th century. He is known for his naturalistic and dynamic style. Mathiesen illustrated many books, including the covers for popular series such as "Tarzan King of the Apes" and the Flemming books. He also worked as a humorist and advertising cartoonist, creating posters for the scout movement, among other things.

The poster was lithographically printed by Andreasen & Lachmann. This lithographic establishment was founded in 1911 and quickly became one of the leading and most recognized printing houses at a time when poster art was a thriving industry.

Stand

9/10 - The poster has patina and some edge cracks, but is overall in perfect condition with sharp colors.
