Lithographic masterpiece in the format 64x102 cm, designed by Odin Rosenvinge and published around 1920 by Anchor-Donaldson Line. Odin Rosenvinge was born in 1858 in the Danish town of Ringkøbing, and lived a large part of his life in England, where he especially designed ship posters.
The Anchor-Donaldson Line was founded on October 20, 1916, when the Donaldson Line merged with the Anchor Line, becoming a new company operating under the name Anchor-Donaldson Line.
The company offered transatlantic steamship passenger services between the UK ports of Glasgow, Moville and Liverpool and the Canadian ports of Québec, Montréal, Toronto, Halifax and St. John, as well as the US Port of Portland, Maine. Their sister ships, Letitia and Athenia, offered both cabin and economy class, but also comfortable intermediate solutions for travelers.
Condition
9/10 – There is a beautiful patina with some minor edge tears and a center fold, but the poster is otherwise in excellent condition.
